THE HOURS OF THE DAY: 12th Hour

The 12th Hour: 3pm to 6pm

Allow me to begin by saying: I am, without the influence of any religious denomination, Sola Scriptura by nature. I do not ‘spin’ the Word of Yahuah. I share what is written, verbatim, as is; and I do not debate. I trust that Yahuah in spite of human transcribers, translations, transliterations, and the passage of time; in His omniscience, has foreseen the present-day circumstances and preserved His Truth intact, for those with eyes to see.

The following clarification is necessary regarding the differentiation between the Watches of the Night, and the Hours of the Day. They are not, nor were they ever, identified as the same.

The concept of a ‘watch’ goes back 1500 years. It was  applied to warriors, or strong men chosen to stay awake, be vigilant and on guard during the night hours. They walked the perimeter of a village, or were posted on the walls of a city to keep watch over its citizens. They also guarded livestock as in ‘shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night.’ Their duty was to be vigilant and sound the alarm against anything that might pose a threat, ’be it physical or spiritual. This protocol still exists today in military cultures. The military time of 0300 is the 3rd Watch of the Night, aka, The Cock Crowing Watch. From sunset to sunrise there were, and remain 4 Watches of the Night, as opposed to the Hours of the Day, which consist of 12 hours; not Watches. Did not Yahusha say: ‘Are there not 12 hours in a day?’ He did not say ‘4 watches in a day.’ 

So why have some teachers renamed, reinterpreted, reinvented what is not in scripture? Entirely too much is being done, and it will lead to confusion and error. Timing, as it relates to Yahuah’s time clock, is precise. Alter it, even the perception of it, in any way, and you will be out of alignment with His will. No matter how good your intentions are.

Every book of the Besorah chronicling the last day of Yahusha, HaMashiach, references ‘hours,’ i.e., ‘now from the 6th Hour….,’ and ‘unto the 9th Hour.’ Matthew 27:45-46. Even Acts 10:1-48 describes Cornelius receiving a vision of an angel, ‘about the 9th Hour.’ 

The distinction is important because during the daylight hours, the biblical stories are told in increments of 3 hours. The timing of each hour is completed at the end of 60 minutes.
