The Hours Of The Day: 3rd Hour

3rd Hour: Sunrise to 9am

The Night Watches were all about establishing a defensive line against the emissaries of HaShatan. We learned to ‘close the gates’ against the influences of the Wicked One at sunset, how to employ strategies to keep his emissaries from over-running the city, and how to ‘hold the line’ against the ‘terror by night,’ and the ‘pestilence that stalks in darkness’. Finally, we covered how to neutralize the schemes of the devil before the sun rises. This month we will cover the 12 Hours of the Day, which are divided into 3 hour segments, for a total of 4 Watches. In the bible the segments are simply referred to as: ‘About the 6th Hour,’ or ‘and it was the 3rd Hour;’ and also, ‘....until the ninth hour,’ etc.

The Commission

The primary role of the Watchman (or woman), during the Hours of the Day are the same as for the Watches of the Night. They are called to alert the people of attempts made by the enemy to infiltrate, overthrow and take captive the Believers. We are to sound the trumpet, or blow the shofar against any representation or manifestation of the Wicked One, wherever it rears its ugly head. When the Adversary, speaking through the mouth of Peter, disparaged Yahusha’s suffering and death, Yahusha rebuked him/Peter directly.  If we observe the behaviour of Yahusha, we have ready examples of how we should interact with entities in the spiritual realm.

In order to conduct ourselves similarly, we must be, as some say, ‘in order.’ In other words, we should strive to be led by the Ruach, HaQodesh; and that will involve the Gifts of Yahuah’s Ruach.

1 Corinthians 14:1, encourages us to pray for the gifts we desire. It particularly emphasizes the Gift of Prophecy, which benefits us as Watchmen, because it edifies the assembly. The Gifts and those who possess them, are evident throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Beginning with all of the prophets who spoke the words of Yahuah; to Yahusha and his Talmidiym. There are 9 Gifts of the Ruach, HaQodesh, that should be prayed for by every Watchman.
