My First Literary Pitch: New York, NY

This blog is about the continual evolution of my writing process. The ups, the downs, the attention to detail required to achieve my goals. IOW’s, my version of the trials, tribulations, joys and frustrations, all writers go through. Although I’ve been writing stories since I could hold a pencil, I only began to write seriously in 2007. I completed my first novel in 2009. Since then my primary goal has been to become traditionally published. However, as most writers know, that is easier said than done. Sometimes, I find the literary gate-keeping, whether it’s from traditional publishing methods, or the rise in the overly stringent pre-requisites necessary to self-publish, a bit too much.
For example: I’m having my author website redesigned to be
more engaging for followers, and more appealing to future agents. Somehow I thought I would give a few preliminary instructions to the designing team, go my merry way, and then be informed towards the end “Madam, your website is done.” Nothing could be further from the truth.
I quickly realized there were things I should’ve uploaded to the team that would’ve expedited the creative process. I read the initial email, but I missed the link entirely. I am now officially overwhelmed, and seriously questioning my life choices. To add fuel to the fire, I awoke this morning with a throbbing migraine. At 10:00 I realized I have two appointments scheduled for today, at 10:30am and 4:30 pm. I would have to cram things in-between those hours or reschedule late in the evening, for the content to upload.
In the meantime, allow me to share a YouTube video.
I am familiar with this agency, as their ‘in-house’ editor did an Editorial, and Developmental Assessment on my 1st novel; the results of which I shared on an earlier blog post. Click the link below to view the video.
